We are a research team working on second language (L2) acquisition, with a particular interest in how learners represent and process language. Some of our current research is described below.
Projects
English pronouns
In this project, we investigate whether adult L2 learners of English show the same difficulties with pronoun interpretation that have been reported for young children (the so-called Delay of Principle B Effect). For details, click here. Italian pronouns This project investigates the extent to which prosodic factors (such as a pause between clauses or stress on pronouns) affects how L2 learners of Italian interpret sentences containing pronouns. Québec French high vowel deletion This project investigates to what extent L2 learners of Québec French can acquire and generalize high vowel deletion patterns present in the L2. |
